MISSION STATEMENT - To prove the feasibility, clinical efficacy, and financial viability of telepsychiatry in Wyoming.

Apollo Telemedicine is working with the Wyoming Department of Health on a pilot study to bring telepsychiatric services to patients in

the Title 25 (Emergently Detained) process, in selected regions of Wyoming. There is an opportunity today to develop a system that will provide more efficient and effective psychiatric care to selected communities. Our goal is to use existing technology and lessons learned from successful models in surrounding states to deliver psychiatric consultation using videoconferencing.

Objectives

- Improve clinical outcomes:

Faster Stabilization

Shorter Hospitalization

Decreased Recidivism

Better Long-Term Care Management

- Reduce cost for the State and Counties of Wyoming

What is Telemedicine?
Telemedicine uses communications networks for delivery of healthcare services and medical education from one geographical location to another. Telemedicine most often involves the use of live, interactive, videoconferencing to treat patients across vast distances. Telemedicine allows for a more sustainable use of resources and services by harnessing communication technologies to reach patients.

Why Use Telemedicine?
Telemedicine is deployed to overcome issues like uneven medical distribution across a geographical area as well as a shortage of infrastructural and or human resources. Telemedicine is a quickly growing field allowing many different populations greater access to medical care.
